Richmond Jazz Festival was established in 2008 to:
* present contemporary jazz at an acoustic level
by some of the finest composers and players on the British scene
* provide a showcase for local musicians and new young groups from the region
* give young musicians, through the medium of improvisation,
the knowledge, skills, experience and confidence to create their own music

* encourage a wider and deeper enjoyment of jazz
